Some categories has divided into subcategories, for example Entertainment apps are in: Book, Video, Magazine, Movies sections.

Every app or game has its own landing page where you can read description, see screenshots and of course - download it (apk files for Android OS; jar (Java) files for Symbian OS – mostly for Nokia devices).

GetJar is the first and one of the biggest open app stores and open mobile app markets in the world providing a free of charge distribution for all users. Same time it allows for developers to upload their apps and place them in to our app catalog free of charge. GetJar does not control any in-app monetization, therefore each developer is in full control of their assets.

Developers can use a self-service portal to easily upload their mobile apps or games free of charge. The development portal can be at: http://developer.getjar.mobi. Prior to app upload developers have to create their free developers account and login to the system. The upload of the app is instant, but it can take usually up-to 72hours until app is placed into the catalog or even longer if app looks suspicious. GetJar can prolong moderation time or reject app submission in any case with no prior notice when the app might not be appropriate for GetJar users.

While uploading app developers has to upload creatives (images and descriptions) and app files (apk files for Android OS or jar (Java) files for Symbian OS). Developers can upload different versions of apps for different target groups (OS versions, device manufacturers, countries).
